Testing pH

Aim: To test the pH of a range of household chemicals.

Method: Add a few drops of each chemical to a spot on your spotting tile. If a substance is solid or powdered you will need to mix it with a few drops of water before testing it.

Results:

Discussion:

The results tell me if it was an acid or a base. Some of the colors in turned to will tell me if it is an acid or a base or not. Red is a strong acid with a pH number of 0 and if its blue its a strong base with has a pH number of 14 and if its green that is neutral with a pH number of 7.

Conclusion:

If I were to do this again I use different chemicals and sort it better.
