Cannabis Referendum 2020

We are learning more about the cannabis vote.

If I could vote I would probably vote yes. I would vote this because even if cannabis is still illegal there would still be people that would sell/smoke it. If it goes legal then there will obliviously rules about where you smoke it, how old you have to be and stuff like that.

Pros:
They should make it legal because even if its illegal there will still be people that will sell/smoke cannabis.
You won't be able to sell/smoke on public property.
Create more jobs.
You know what you are buying.
You know who is growing/ who your getting the supplies from.
People under 20 will not has assess to cannabis.
Cons:
If it is legal it will be over priced.
Create drug addicts.
Damage mental health.
Still can't stop illegal selling.
Drugs can cause you to do bad things.

Refraction and reflection

We are working on Refection and Reflection, we had some equipment in a light box we could use to bend the light. At 10 degrees it bent the angle to 8 degrees. At 20 degrees it bent the light to 15 degrees. at 30 degrees it was 20 degrees. at 40 degrees it was 20 degrees as well.

Aim: To investigate how different types of lenses refract light.
Equipment: Triple-slit ray slide, power supply, a concave lens and a convex lens.
Method:
1. Set up ray box, triple-slit ray slide and power supply.
2. Place the convex lens in the space on your paper. Place the ray box at the top of the page and shine the three rays of the light at the lens. Make sure the central light ray hits the lens at 90 degrees as indicated in the diagram.
3. Carefully trace the direction of the incoming and refracted rays.
4. Repeat using the concave lens.

When the light through this type of lens, the rays all move away (diverge) from each other. One use of these lenses is in security peepholes in a door so that when the person on the inside of the room can see who is at the door without having to open it.
That paragraph is call a Concave.

When light passes through this type of lens, they rays all move towards (converge) each other. One use of these lenses is in a camera, to focus the light onto the film or digital sensor. Magnifying glasses also use this type of lens.
That paragraph is called Convex.

Dissection of an Eye

Today in science we were dissecting a cows eye. We had to cut of any extra flesh that was around the eye. Next we had to make an incision between the outside flesh and the cornea. We had to be careful that we didn't make a wrong cut or the humour inside the eye would squirt out. For more details you can watch this video on how to dissect a cows eye. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fve8AQ5laYw&t=2s

  1. Aim

To dissect a cows eye.
  1. Equipment

Tweezers
Incision scissors
Gloves
News paper
  1. Method

A. Lay out your news paper and get gloves
B. Get your tools
C. Cut any extra flesh around the eye
D. Make the incision and any other cuts
  1. Findings

The eye was really slimy but on the inside it looked cool
  1. Conclusion

The eye was really thick so it was hard to cut.

Different leaders - timeline

In Hurumanu 6 we had to choose a leader and make a timeline about them.  I choose to do my timeline about Te Whiti o Rongomai, this is how it turned out.

Governments

In Hur5 we have been looking at different types of governments. I was in a group with Kody and Vin and this is our slide.

We had to research what countries had different types of governments. Then we had a map and we had to find each country that had either Democracy, Monarchy, Dictatorship Communism, Totalitarianism, Oligarchy or Anarchy.

Just dance, Table Tennis & Juggling

In PE we have been doing some Table Tennis and Juggling but last week our teacher Mr Hilliard said we could do Just Dance if we wanted. A few others and I did Just Dance last week. Some of the dances we did were Rasputin, Vodovorot, Kill this Love, Whip Nae Nae, Juju on that Beat, Air Planes, We got the Power and Footloose. It was really fun getting to do Just Dance and I enjoyed it a lot.

Before we did Just dance we did Table Tennis and Juggling. For juggling we had to juggle 2 with one hand then 3 with both hands. For Table Tennis we had to vs someone and get 10 across then we could do it with the wall.

I reckon I have really good self confidence when it comes to dance because I dance outside of school and I have a big passion for it. When it comes to some other sports I am normally not that good at it but I get better.

Reading

Today in Hur6 which is power to the people, we have to share the book we read. The book I read is called Star Fell the author is Dominque Valente. Its about some people trying to steal different types of potions and they have powers like when they accidentally lose something they can easily find it. If they go outside somewhere and you leave something at home you can't easily find it because you know where it is. If you try to lose something its the same you cant purposely find it you have to accidentally lose it to find it again.

June 3rd

Today I continued reading Star Fell and it wasn't much but I started reading chapter 5. It was saying that Wolkana couldn't find her way to find the potions.

June 8th

Willow and Moreg are trying to find there way back to Radditch, but they are trying to do it peacefully so they don't wake up the brothers and their presence. As they were getting closer Willow thought less about the brothers, and she wondered more about the people they she might meet along the way. She then realised that she is bound to meet the broom-makers. Willow Couldn't believe it, she was so excited to see brooms fly. During their excitement they realise they need to remember one important thing...

June 15th

As Willow watched she saw that there were hundreds of workstations with different Mementons all involved in various stages of broom construction. News of their arrival spread quickly within seconds a rather short mementon (at just below 9 feet) came forward to greet them.

June 17th

When Willow meet the mementons she thought that there eyes were strange. They were a deep dark blue that had white flecks in them. It looked like small chips of the night sky full of stars. Willow wondered if he saw things differently with eyes like that.

June 22nd

I have a new book and it is called The Bone Tiki. It was made by a famous New Zealand author called David Hair.

June 24th

They are about to leave for a funeral and in the Maori culture they have something called a tangi which lasts around 3 days.
